Project Runaway

My sister taught me how to thread a bobbin and the other intricacies of my sewing machine. I’ve always felt inadequate in any domestic area, especially since my mother taught Home Economics and has the ability to duplicate any fashion she sees. I can look at anyone and recreate him/her in stick figure form. I didn’t have to go to school to gain those skillz.

This is how I moisten the thread

I am moistening the thread. I am not making out with my Kenmore. Not yet.

Again, the wrong way

At least the babies are impressed.

  1. I have the exact same Kenmore. Did I ever mention how much I hate it? F-ing thing jams up on me all the time since I cleaned it.

    So, don’t clean yours.

    : )

  2. Mom's Secret Life says:

I once got my finger jammed up into the needle on my machine while I was trying to “finger measure” the distance between the thing that holds the needle and the foot plate. It was not a pretty sight.

  3. I don’t have a sewing machine. But, my sister taught me how to do the bobbin thing and the threading thing about 3 or 4 times. This is what I know how to do: turn the machine on, press on the pedal to sew, turn the dial to change stiches, and press the button-thing down to sew in reverse. At least I can sew in a straight line.

  4. i want to learn to sew so bad, and i think i will do so through trial and plenty errors. i love that pic of the kids lol. can’t wait to see what you’ve made!

  5. yikes, sorry that was me “anonymous”

  6. Oooh. I would totally make out with my sewing machine if I thought it would respect me the next day.
