Friday giveaway! That means FREE STUFF people!

I’m throwing my hat into the blog-prize-giveaway-fray with this hypothetical: suppose I throw a party and invite you, my dear internet friend. What dish are you bringing?

All you have to do is answer that question by tonight 10PM PST and I’ll randomly pick a comment.

If you win, you get a brand-new copy of Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook Deceptively Delicious.

P.S. If you don’t prefer chickpeas in your chocolate chip cookies, don’t put them in! The recipes still work, deceptive or not.

  1. Well, let’s see…

If it’s this time of year and I can bring an appetizer, I make a cheese ball unlike any other. Everyone who has ever tasted it grovels at my feet for the so easy it’s ridiculous recipe.

If it’s summertime, I would bring a really nice spinach-rice salad.

  3. My famous sausage and cheese quiche!

  4. oooh I’ll play! I’ll bring two things: buffalo chicken dip (with Fritos for dipping. Oh hell yes, I said FRITOS) AND peppermint bark. Yum.

Because I cannot find my way through a kitchen, I would buy a few blocks of different and very nice chocolate, place it on a cheese board with little signs to tell you what it is, and allow everyone to choose which chocolates they try and how much they take.

  9. Wine, or perhaps a homemade Sangria. What? I drink my dinner these days ๐Ÿ˜›

  10. I would bring a chocolate strawberry stromboli, hot from the oven. Delicious treat, simply dripping with chocolate.

  11. um, CAN THIS BE A REAL PARTY? i’ll fly to seattle for all this food (and sangria…)

It’s chicken, filled with ham, covered in mozzarella cheese – what’s not to like?

P.S. Thanks for commenting on my site! I’ve read you for awhile, so when I saw that, it made my day.

  15. Asian Party Chex Mix & Furikake Crusted Salmon!!!

  16. Fruit. Fresh cut, ice-cold fruit. Watermelon, catalope, pineapple, grapes, kiwi, and the like.

  17. Chickenbells says:

Oh lets see…there’s this wonderful looking beef stew recipe from Apples For Jam that I have been dying to try…so, definitely that! I also have a bottle of red wine with chocolate in it, that I have been saving for a special occasion as well!

  18. I’m bringing an artichoke heart dip and an assortment of fatty chips and crackers to go with it. I’m not so good at baking things that are healthy for you, but they’re all tasty. Not as tasty as the dishes my husband makes, but mine don’t have a cube of butter per person in the recipe either. The dip only has one cube of butter, and it can totally feed like twelve people….if we all take a “normal” serving size.

  19. Moore Family says:

I would definitely have to bring a good wine. And to go with the wine, my favorite party food is good ol’ little smokies!

  20. ok so this is really easy and yummy.
Take a wheel of brie and scrape the rind off the top, leaving sides and bottom intact. Spread a thin layer of roasted, mashed garlic on the top. Microwave until runny. Then spread a layer of blackberry jam on top of that. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and a handful of fresh basil that has been finely chopped. Serve with your favourite crackers or toasts.

  21. The Payne Family says:

I would bring polenta bites with sauteed mushrooms on top, yum!

  22. Red rice and spam ;D

  23. Potato pie. Yum. Always the first thing to disappear at the potlucks I’ve been to.

  24. Mrs. Blogoway says:

Boursin on table water crackers with French 75’s.

  25. shirley eugist says:

    I would bring you a pineapple upside-down cake. : )

  26. I’d mix this sundried tomato vinaigrette salad dressing that I have with mayo and put it on toasted mini-potato rolls. Then, I’d grill some turkey burgers – cut them with cookie cutters. Bitesize turkey burgers.

They are really yummy. And I can whip them up in 15 minutes after work.

  27. Meatballs! That’s what I’d bring.
