my pumpkin

one pumpkin is not real

2006. This was one of the two costumes I had for him that year. I loved this outfit so much and the thrill of dressing up a child who cannot yet call child protective services on his own. He was a super chunky five month old and wearing size 4 diapers yet I cannot believe he was ever this small.

2007. Here we are at the South 47 Farms, one of my favorite places in all of the whole world, second to wherever I can find yo’ mama (oh snap!). Nathan swiped a mini gourd which I had to put back because it cost 50 cents and I couldn’t of anything to do with that other than a prop in a S&M movie. Forget you just read that, especially if we’re related.

2008. We went last weekend to the Carpinito Farms. It was a warm day and the place was swarmed with people. I don’t know why I don’t like being near a whole bunch of other families. I can’t relax. Unless it’s Disneyland and I can drown my social anxiety in diet cokes that cost $4.50.

Pumpkins are one of my favorite parts of this beautiful season. What do you love about fall?

  1. My new favorite thing about fall is that picture of your son dressed up like a jack-o-lantern!

I like to bundle up and go for walks ๐Ÿ™‚ And I like fall clothes ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. i love the like, three whole days we have where the leaves are on fire. then they all fall down. but those three days are so magical, especially if there’s blue-blue sky and you are out driving around, windows cracked and heat on in the car. with good music. and that magic moment when the sun is setting and it comes streaming through the trees.

  4. We went to Carpinito this year and it was awful. Too crowded and muddy. Never again!

  5. Oh, my favorite time of year. The crunchy leaves, the cold snap, the smell of (someone else’s) fireplace at night, scarves, when crazy husband burns sticks and lawn detritus in the firepit on Sunday nights. I’m so goofy about fall, I even like the frosty car in the AM.

I love the cool weather, Thanksgiving, wearing a scarf with a wool coat, hot chocolate, the smell of wax in a ski shop, and the way the cold weather makes you want to snuggle…

The fall is such a beautiful season because I love seeing nature change in color. Of course, here on Saipan we don’t get to have that, but hey the tangerines are in season! LOL!

By the way, your son is super cute in your pictures, but I’m sure he’s cute every day of the year ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I love all the pictures I get to see of families enjoying the harvest and colors.
    Thanks for sharing your pics!

  9. I am conflicted by your post. So happy you all can visit pumpkin patches each year….but sad that we can’t. Hmmm…maybe I should clear a small portion of my mom’s land and start a local pumpkin patch!! Or maybe someone else should do it and I’ll just show up with my family.
